Sisterhood - June 2022

SISTERHOOD

Are you ready to celebrate being a mom or dad, or your

children or grandchildren who are moms or dads? Do you

want to remember and honor your own parents? Join us in

our spacious party room, Sunday, June 12 for our annual

Mother’s Day/Father’s Day luncheon co-sponsored with the

Men’s Club. The International Singers will entertain. In addition

to AvMed, we have special sponsorship from the Village

Medical Center. The menu includes a full bagel and nova

plate with all the trimmings, a made-to-order omelet, and

Danish for dessert. Join us at this signature event for only

$22. Call Barbara Senfeld, 954-399-8211 to sign up.

Everyone is welcome..

At our June 7 meeting we’ll be entertained by Laible Ben

Moshe and his unique style, which we found enchanting

when he entertained us a few years ago. He is a folk rocker

giving a new beat to a time-honored message, spearheading

one of the latest trends in Jewish music. Laible Ben Moshe’s

music is highly diversified and spans the range from country,

folk, blues and rock to chazonos in a very original form. His

latest album is “Don’t ever let a Rabbi be a cowboy.” We’ll

serve a light lunch at no charge. Please call Sally Gevis, 954-

437-7972 to register so we can order enough food. Everyone

is welcome.

Our Craft Fair on May 1 was a success with more than 30

vendors displaying their original work of high-quality handmade

goods. They were thrilled at the steady stream of

shoppers. We will repeat the Fair before the December holidays.

The Gift Shop, which organized the event, is chock full

of both secular and religious gifts, jewelry and exclusive

designs by Mary Dobrinsky. Stop by before services on

Friday night or call Barbara Fischer for an appointment, 954-

815-0848.

Angelo Castillo, our City Commissioner, was our guest for

our May 10 meeting. He informed a capacity crowd of the latest

happenings in the Pembroke Pines and issues affecting

us here in the Village. The Q & A was lively and extensive.

We are always grateful when he can join us.
