Presidents Message - March 2021

We have received many questions about when we will be ready to reopen and resume our temple activities. Please be assured that we are working on it and are just as anxious to return to normalcy as you are. We hope that most of you have been able to get the vaccine by now. It is essential that as many as possible get vaccinated in order for us to consider reopening. We will have to follow the CDC recommendations and make every effort to keep our temple family as safe as possible. Be sure to continue wearing your masks, maintaining proper distance and washing your hands regularly. Sanitized wipes are available in the Temple and you are encouraged to use the sanitizer whenever needed.

Since we have had to remain closed for the past year, we have had many unexpected expenditures and our proposed budget has had to be revised. In an effort to keep you all aware of what is happening in the Synagogue, we have tried to have several drive-bys, Zoom meetings, streaming of services and announcements, phone tree messages and more. If, for any reason, you are not getting the messages, please let us know. We are trying to keep our programs going, broadcasting the Rabbi’s messages twice a week, zooming Sisterhood, Men’s Club and Temple Board Meetings. Announcements are made every Friday Night and Saturday morning after services and the Newsletter is still being sent every month. You can get further information by checking into our website at PembrokePinesJewishCenter.Com.

Many programs and activities are being planned for the next few months and we want you all to be aware and have the opportunity to participate in as many as possible. Beginning February 14, we will have a drive-thru pick up dinner at 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon; on Thursday Night, February 25, we will observe Purim by streaming a brief service and reading of the Megillah at 7:00 P.M. and on Friday, February 26, we will have a parking lot celebration of Purim sponsored by AV Med at 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon; on March 10 we will have another parking lot program by Dynamic Studies from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.; On March 27 Passover begins with the first Seder and services will be streamed on Sunday. March 28 at 10:00 A.M. and concluding on Saturday, April 3 beginning at 10;00 A.M. with Yizkor being part of the service. s This will give you an idea of some of the plans being made and let you know that we are still functioning and active. We hope that you will participate in most of these and watch for more to come.

Don’t forget to join us in the raffle for a year’s free membership for July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. For only $10.00 you can get a chance to win the year’s free membership.
